Eyespot

Use the eyespot mixer to edit and combine your videos, music and photos online! Share your mixes with the world for Free.

• EFFECTS -- In the Mixer, you can now apply effects to your video and photos. Just click "Effects" in the left sidebar and then drag and drop the effects onto clips in the timeline. We have black & white, sepia, slow motion, fast motion, rotate (yeah!), and lots more.

• TRANSITIONS -- In the Mixer, you can now fade in at the beginning of a mix, fade out at the end of a mix, and dissolve (cross fade) between clips within the mix. You'll find transitions in the left sidebar above Effects, and just like everything else they are drag and drop. Simple!

• EXPLORE -- The new Explore page is a great way to see what's happening with the community. You can browse the most recently uploaded videos, the most recently created mixes, videos most recently posted to Eyespot groups, and the ever popular, er, most popular.

• CREATIVE COMMONS -- Eyespot is now officially a Creative Commons site. If you don't know about CC please check them out. In a nutshell this means that everything uploaded to Eyespot is available for other members of the community to use in their mixes EXCEPT for stuff marked as private. So fire up the Eyespot search engine and see what kind of cool clips you can find for your mixes.

• AUTOMATIC ATTRIBUTION -- The Creative Commons license supported by Eyespot says that you can use other people's stuff but you have to give them credit for it. How do you go about doing that? Don't sweat it, we take care of it for you. Every time someone uses one (or more) of your clips in their mix, you will automatically get credit at the end of the mix. For example, if I collect a clip from a user named FrogBoy the end of my mix will have a brief credits frame that says "Clips provided by FrogBoy".

• NEW HOME PAGE -- A long overdue face lift for the home page. Nice job extrachris.

• FASTER SEARCH ENGINE -- Before, sluggish. Now, lightning quick. Seek and you shall find.

• PROMOTIONAL MUSIC AND VIDEO -- We are getting tons of great music and video from our partners. Check out our promotions page to get great stuff from Sergio Mendes, Black Eyed Peas, The Stills, The Streets, Surfline, Five For Fighting, and lots more. Keep watching that page as we have tons of more great promotions coming up soon!

• CURRENT TV -- Ever hear of Al Gore? He has a new cable and satellite TV station called Current TV that is all about broadcasting short mixes created by every day people like you and me. We just signed a deal with them and as a result they are going to start broadcasting the best stuff from Eyespot. Did I mention that they have 30 million viewers? The first thing they are interested in is stuff shot with mobile phones, so join the MobileTV group for your chance to be a famous television producer. Smile

• DEVELOPERS PROGRAM -- Are you a software developer? Our Mixing Engine has a plugin architecture, which means we're able to open it up to developers who want to contribute custom effects, transitions, filters, or any other audio/visual transformations you can think of.
